What to bring with you to sell your car

 

Ready to sell your car?

Once we have confirmed the value of your vehicle, you are required to have certain items in order to complete the sale.  These items may vary based on the state where your vehicle is currently registered and titled.  If you have any questions regarding the items you need to bring with you, contact us before your visit.  Our webpage explaining our process can also provide guidance on what to expect when you visit our dealership.

 

 

What to bring with you...

 

Along with bringing your current vehicle and a printout of all pages of your Instant Purchase Offer to Acura of Libertyville, please remember to bring the following items as well...

 

1.       Your car's title or pay-off information
We will need a clear title in order to transfer the car's ownership, and it must be provided at time of sale.  We can assist in clearing any existing liens against the title of the vehicle, but additional fees and costs may apply (visit our FAQ section).  All parties to ownership of the vehicle that are listed in any form on the title should be present at time of sale.  If any person listed cannot be present, visit our FAQ section.

2.       Current vehicle registration
We must obtain a copy of a current and valid vehicle registration to confirm that you are the owner of the vehicle.

3.       Valid Photo ID
All parties to ownership of the vehicle that are listed in any form on the title should bring a valid, state-issued photo identification.

4.       All Keys, Remotes and Owner's Manuals
When you sell us your vehicle, it is very important you provide us all sets of keys and remotes, along with the owner's manuals for the vehicle.  If original keys and/or remotes for the vehicle are missing, we may make an adjustment to the offer.  The Determining Your Offer section lists what other factors may impact your offer.

 

 

What to expect after the sale

To complete the sale, Acura of Libertyville will issue a company check to the names listed on the title.  Consider reviewing your bank's hold policy as may apply to the size of your anticipated check from sale proceeds.

Have negative equity?
